Big Name
Demo - Al Stirt coming to
CNEW on Sept. 4th- Al
is a world renowned turner known
for surface decorations on his
turnings.
See his website
His "bowl" compositions utilize
the elements of pattern, line,
weight, texture and form. Even
in the most simple pieces he
finds a harmony of grain and
shape, seeking to balance his
works between the dynamic and
the serene. By playing with the
tension created by combining the
circle's perfection with the
energy of pattern he tries to
make pieces that have life.
Patterns, whether created by
grain structure or organic
fluting & carving or repeated
geometric shapes, develop
harmony in each of his pieces.
See flyer here
Admission $10 incl.
refreshments. 6:30pm to
9:30pm
